Declaration of the 6th Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion Award (NAMI) – 2023
This is a great privilege for the Asian Centre for Inclusive Education (ACIE) family to declare that Panir Chara SHD Model High School, Ramu, Cox’s bazar & Md. Mubarak Hossain, Assistant Teacher, Panir Chara SHD Model High School have jointly been awarded the 6th Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion Award (NAMI)- 2023 for immense contributions regarding the inclusion of various marginalized learners in Bangladesh including those who have disabilities, ethnic backgrounds and who are from disadvantaged socio-economic situations. CONGRATULATIONS!!
This award has been declared today (27 August ,2026) in response to the nominations sent by Muhammad Omar Showkat, Head Teacher, Panir Chara SHD Model High School, Rashid Nagar Union, Ramu, Cox’s Bazar dated 15 July 2023; and a rigorous scrutiny and selection process were followed by a Jury Board.
This award has been named in memory of Late Dr. Nirafat Anam who was the Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education & Research (IER) of University of Dhaka until she passed away in August 2001. Late Dr. Anam dedicated her whole life to ensure the inclusion of people with special needs in Bangladesh. NAMI Award is being awarded in every alternative year to those great persons and institutions whose contributions have made our society more inclusive.

Third NAMI Award 2017—Mr. Monsur Ahmed Chowdhur, Founder of Impact Foundation, Bangladesh.
Fourth NAMI Award 2019—Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Founder, BRAC.
5th NAMI Award 2021—Late Mr. Lindsay Allan Cheyne, Founder, UCEP Bangladesh.
