Declaration of the 7th Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion Award (NAMI) – 2025
This is a great privilege for the Asian Centre for Inclusive Education (ACIE) family to declare that Late ASMO Subhan, Founder Chairperson & Trustee, Social Services and Management Trust (SSMT); Founder, Camellia Duncan Foundation School in & Camellia Duncan Foundation Hospital in Tea Garden, Founder & Trustee, Social Services & Management Trust, Former CEO, Duncan Brothers & Fellow, Royal Society of Arts; has been awarded the 7th Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion Award (NAMI)- 2025 for his immense contributions regarding the inclusion of various marginalized persons in Bangladesh including those who have disabilities, ethnic backgrounds and who are from disadvantaged socio-economic situations. CONGRATULATIONS!!
This award has been declared today (27 August 2026) in response to the nominations sent by Founder Trustee and Secretary, Social Services and Management Trust (SSMT) and a rigorous scrutiny and selection process were followed by a Jury Board.
This award has been named in memory of Late Dr. Nirafat Anam who was the Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education & Research (IER) of University of Dhaka until she passed away in August 2001. Late Dr. Anam dedicated her whole life to ensure the inclusion of people with special needs in Bangladesh. NAMI Award is being awarded in every alternative year to those great persons and institutions whose contributions have made our society more inclusive.

First NAMI Award 2013—-Professor Emeritus Dr. Sultana S. Zaman, Founder of the Department of Special Education, Institute of Education and Research, University of Dhaka.
Second NAMI Award 2015—Valerie Ann Taylor, Founder of CRP, Bangladesh.
Third NAMI Award 2017—Mr. Monsur Ahmed Chowdhur, Founder of Impact Foundation, Bangladesh.
Fourth NAMI Award 2019—Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Founder, BRAC.
5th NAMI Award 2021—Late Mr. Lindsay Allan Cheyne, Founder, UCEP Bangladesh.
6th NAMI Award 2023— Panir Chara SHD Model High School, Ramu, Cox’s bazar & Md. Mubarak Hossain, Assistant Teacher, Panir Chara SHD Model High School
