Keynote Speech 2 (Prof. Syed Manzoorul Islam, Ph.D.)
Though the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic reached a situation where human mobility is now close to normal, and everything is getting back to the traditional method like usual, we are still pushed back at least a couple of years by the consequences in terms of education. The keynote speaker, Syed Manzoorul Islam, Ph.D., focused on the existing and emerging challenges in every area of teaching-learning, from pedagogy to curriculum to classroom management, and showed how we could face them and turn them to our advantage. He stated that this age is the age of experts and practitioners. We need to avoid bureaucratic complexities and leave the platform of policy proposing and reforming to the experts and practitioners of inclusive education. He ended his speech with the outline of an insightful– but achievable– model of a twenty-first-century classroom that has the potential to bring the desired paradigm change in our education.
