4th Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion Award (NAMI 2019)
On behalf of Late Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Mr. Asif Saleh who is the Executive Director of BRAC received the 4th Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion (NAMI) Award 2019 today (19 November, 2020) at the BRAC Centre, Moohakhali, Dhaka that was declared at the very last stage of his life in November 2019) from Professor Dr. M. Tariq Ahsan, who is the Secretary General of ACIE, Bangladesh. Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, KCMG; Founder and Chair Emeritus of BRAC was awarded the 4th Nirafat Anam Memorial Inclusion Award (NAMI 2019) by the Asian Centre for Inclusive Education (ACIE) for his immense contributions regarding the inclusion of various marginalized people in every sphere of life in Bangladesh including those who have disabilities, ethnic backgrounds and who are from disadvantaged socio-economic situations. Professor Tariq Ahsan handed over the award crest, certificate, publications and a Student Scholarship Cheque to Mr. Saleh as a part of the Award Ceremony.
Based on the nomination sent by the BEP of BRAC, a jury board declared the award after a rigorous review. Despite declaring the award about a year ago, due to Sir Abed’s health condition and COVID situation, the award giving ceremony was delayed. Mr. Safiqul Islam, Director, BRAC Education Programme (BEP) and Ms. Limia Dewan, Education Manager, BEP were also present in the occasion. Ms. Selina Hossain (famous writer, novelist and activist), honourable member of the Jury Board, Mr. Iqbal Hossain and Mr. Kaiser E Alam, members, ACIE and Mr. Wajiur Rahaman Rafel, Family Member of Late Dr. Nirafat Anam were also present in the ceremony.
